About

There's too much of everything. Too many brands, too many products, too many "top 10" lists, too many sponsored links. We no longer know what to choose - and that's understandable, because noise has become the business model.

What this is

The Sulkowski Guide is a filter. A personal, partial, unapologetic look at brands that do things right. Not the most famous. Not the most expensive. The ones that have something to say - through their materials, their history, the way they make things.

How it works

Each entry is the result of research. We look at where the brand comes from, where it manufactures, with what, for how long, and why. We don't rate. We don't rank. We tell the story.

The guide is organized around eight worlds - Carry, Wear, Dress, Footwear, Cut, Live, Savor, Move - because we search for objects by need, not by trend.

Independence

The brands featured here probably don't know about it - and that's perfectly fine.

Who's behind this

Geoffray Sulkowski

Geoffray Sulkowski. Parisian, recovering collector, compulsive buyer in remission. The kind of person who spends three hours comparing two backpacks only to buy a third one. This guide is my therapy: instead of buying, I document. Instead of accumulating, I curate. Instead of keeping it to myself, I share.

Sulkowski is my name. The guide bears it because it commits me. It's a signature, not a brand.

Today, the guide features 560 brands, in four languages.

The long life of objects. That's what we care about.
