Civivi is the little sister of WE Knife, a high-end Chinese knife maker respected by enthusiasts. In 2018, WE launched Civivi to democratize their manufacturing standards at accessible prices, and it worked. The Elementum became a phenomenon: the knife everyone recommends as a first purchase, the one you gift to convert a friend to EDC. The community is unanimous: manufacturing tolerances worthy of high-end, impeccable finishing, decent steels for the price. Some find the action a bit mechanical compared to a Spyderco, others consider it unbeatable for $40-60. Civivi proved China could make excellent tool when specifications are demanding.
