Before founding Fullcount, Mikiharu Tsujita worked alongside Hidehiko Yamane, the creator of Evisu. The two men shared the same fever for vintage American denim, but their visions diverged. Tsujita left Yamane in the early 1990s to launch his own brand in Osaka in 1992. He thus joined the circle of what would later be called the Osaka Five, alongside Evisu, Denime, Warehouse, and Studio D'Artisan, the five brands that revived Japanese denim for the world.

Tsujita's obsession is cotton. Not just any cotton: Zimbabwe cotton, with its long fibers that give the fabric a density and softness that standard cottons cannot achieve. This choice is not a marketing argument but a technical conviction. The fabric is woven in Okayama, and the result is a 13.7oz denim that is immediately distinctive to the touch.

The 1108 model, in Zimbabwe cotton, became Fullcount's signature. It is not a jean made to impress in fade photos. The aging is gentle, gradual, without the harsh contrasts sought by some raw denim purists. Fullcount stands by this choice: wearing comfort takes priority over the spectacle of wear. Patina comes with time, not with force.

In a Japanese market where every brand pushes the limits of weight or fabric complexity, Fullcount maintains a surprisingly consistent line. Zimbabwe cotton, 13.7oz, softness as a signature. Thirty years later, this coherence has become its strongest argument.
