History
Kuala Lumpur, 2011. Patrick launches Greenroom136 from a small Malaysian workshop. One man, sewing machines, technical fabric. No seed funding, no Kickstarter, no MBA.
What sets Greenroom136 apart is the WildCard configurator. You choose a model, customize everything: colors, materials (Cordura, X-Pac VX42, Multicam), pockets, dimensions. Custom-made at Malaysian artisan prices. Among enthusiasts, the community is loyal and vocal. Reviews are near-unanimously positive.
The business model is smart. Manufacturing in Malaysia avoids American and European costs without the "Made in China" stigma. Each bag is sewn to order, 2-4 week lead times. VX42 X-Pac has become the signature material. The downside: customer service depends on Patrick. Great when he's available, slow when he's busy or on holiday.
