KILLSPENCER
Minimalist leather bags, industrial design handmade, Los Angeles
Philosophy
KILLSPENCER treats the bag as an industrial design object. Full-grain leather sourced globally, hand-assembled in Los Angeles, with an obsession for clean lines and function. No visible logo, no trends, just material and form.
History
Spencer Nikosey graduated from ArtCenter College of Design in Pasadena, one of the best industrial design schools in the world. In 2009, he founded KILLSPENCER in Los Angeles. The name is brutal, and so is the approach: treating the leather bag as an industrial design object, not as leather goods.
Nikosey works with leather the way one works with aluminum. Precision, clean lines, zero ornamentation, zero visible logos. Full-grain leather from American tanneries, Swiss Riri zippers, Austrialpin buckles, waxed canvas. Each bag is hand-sewn in the LA workshop. It's pure Made in USA, from materials to needle.
Carryology tested the Daypack and noted the "super high" build quality. Wired gave it 8/10, calling the bag "warzone ready." On enthusiasts: "A small, boutique operation in Los Angeles that builds unique, timeless designs using high-quality leather and waxed canvas." One user documented 3 years of daily wear without issues.
The collaboration with Van Neistat (Casey Neistat's brother) produced the CW Morgan bag for $1,500. This is the price segment where KILLSPENCER operates: discreet luxury for people who don't want a logo but want leather that ages well.
The positioning is deliberately anti-fashion. No seasons, no trends, no collaborations with streetwear brands. Just leather, canvas, metal, assembled by hands in Los Angeles. The brand remains confidential. This is a feature, not a bug.
