Marc Guyot

Tailor-shoemaker, made-to-measure and bespoke, Paris

🇫🇷 France, Paris Founded in 1999 $$$$

Shoes are likely manufactured in Portugal (former Carlos Santos distribution). Bespoke tailoring is done in Paris.

Philosophy

Parisian tailor-shoemaker since 1999. Made-to-measure and bespoke, 1930s-40s inspiration. Strong aesthetic vision, no concessions to fashion.

History

Paris, 1999. Marc Guyot left the clothing industry and opened his boutique on rue Pasquier, near the Madeleine. The positioning was clear from the start: no fashion, just style. Inspired by the 30s-40s, traditional made-to-measure and bespoke tailoring, shoes and accessories.

"I don't make pretty suits or beautiful shoes, I make Marc Guyot." This is the kind of statement that can annoy or charm. Parisian Gentleman listed it in its selections. Mes Elegances "strongly recommends a detour via rue Pasquier."

For shoes, Marc Guyot distributed Carlos Santos for a time. Parisian Gentleman noted in 2015 that it was difficult to find Carlos Santos in France outside of Guyot's. The current shoe line is presented as "handmade" on the website - the actual manufacturing location remains to be specified (Portugal probable for shoes, bespoke Paris for clothing).

It's a unique case in the Parisian landscape. Neither a simple Carlos Santos reseller like Loding or Malfroid, nor a shoemaker like Corthay or Berluti. Marc Guyot is a tailor-shoemaker with a strong aesthetic vision: the classic masculine wardrobe, without concession to contemporary fashion. If you're looking for your nth grey business suit, move along.

Unique boutique, rue Pasquier. No network, no franchise.
