Morjas
DTC Goodyear welt shoes, made in Spain, from Stockholm since 2017
Manufacturing outsourced to Spain (likely Andres Sendra). No proprietary know-how. Same OEM model as many competing DTC brands.
Philosophy
DTC Goodyear welt shoes from Stockholm, made in Spain. Classic range at 'fair' prices (~200 euros).
History
Stockholm, 2017. Henrik Berg launches Morjas with the classic DTC pitch: quality Goodyear welt, direct sales, 'fair' pricing around 200 euros. Made in Spain. Same model as a dozen others (Meermin, Myrqvist, Skolyx..) using the same Spanish factories.
Mixed reception among enthusiasts. 'Not that good looking at the feedback' (2022). But the Ivy Loafer well received in 2024 as an Alden LHS alternative at half the price. Nordstrom deal in 2025. Not bad, just not remarkable.
Iconic Products
Ivy Loafer
The penny loafer that saved the reputation among enthusiasts. Described as 'the perfect daily loafer' in 2024. Alden LHS alternative at half the price. Low vamp, rounded toe. The model that justifies the brand's existence.
The Oxford
Cap-toe Oxford, the entry model. Goodyear welt, full-grain calf, ~200 euros. Decent for the price. Same shoe as Meermin, Myrqvist, Skolyx. The difference is in the marketing, not the shoe.
Chelsea Boot
Chelsea boot in leather or suede. Goodyear welt, clean Scandinavian silhouette. The kind of model every DTC brand adds because it sells well. No bad surprises, no good ones either.
