Moustache
Furniture and lighting, French design editor since 2009
Philosophy
French design editor since 2009. Furniture, lighting and objects designed in Paris, manufactured in Europe. Joyful design, quality materials.
History
Paris, 2009. Stephane Arriuberge and Massimiliano Iorio launch Moustache. Not a manufacturer, an editor. Like a publishing house edits authors, Moustache edits designers: Inga Sempe, Ionna Vautrin, Constance Guisset, Big-Game.
Joyful, colorful catalog. Anti-minimalist. In MoMA, Arts Decoratifs, Vitra Design Museum permanent collections. Manufacturing 'European, mainly French' but deliberately vague. No workshop names. For 400-1800 euro prices, transparency could be better. Few client reviews after 17 years: the brand lives in the professional design ecosystem.
Iconic Products
Bold Chair
The Bold Chair by Big-Game. Round shapes, vivid colors, recycled plastic. 480 euros for a plastic chair: that's the price of designer authorship. It's in MoMA. Summarizes Moustache: visually joyful, premium on the wallet.
Lampe Ozz (Ionna Vautrin)
Ionna Vautrin's table lamp. Small, round, colorful, with a cartoon character air. The luminaire that embodies Moustache's 'joyful' design. The kind of object you buy because it makes you smile.
Fauteuil Extra Bold
The signature armchair at 1800 euros. Big-Game again. Generous shapes, enveloping seat, the XL version of the Bold philosophy. The catalog's statement piece. Sofa price for an armchair.
