Dyneema Bio trail shoes, Vibram sole, Montreal since 2020
Philosophy
Canadian trail running shoes. Bio-based Dyneema fiber uppers. Extremely durable, responsible manufacturing.
History
Former footwear industry execs in Montreal who decided to rethink everything. The upper? Dyneema Bio - the strongest and lightest fiber that exists. The sole? Vibram Megagrip, unanimously praised among enthusiasts, for its grip. The result, at ~$285: 'worth every penny,' 'construction quality top notch,' 'they last forever and just don't break down.' The specialist forums debate is recurring: are you buying performance or branding? Consensus leans toward performance. The shoes last significantly longer than Hoka or Speedgoat, which justifies the price for many. The 001 is the pure model - minimalist, raw trail. The 002 adds comfort. Note: some find the 001 uncomfortable at the heel beyond 20km, and streetwear collabs divide trail purists. But Dyneema doesn't lie.
Iconic Products
norda 001
The pure trail shoe. Dyneema Bio upper, Vibram Megagrip sole. Minimalist, indestructible. 'They last forever and just don't break down.' Built for 1000+ miles. Warning: some find the heel uncomfortable beyond 20km. The raw model, not the comfortable one.
norda 002
The 001 with added comfort. Same Dyneema Bio, same Vibram, more cushion. For those wanting norda durability without suffering past kilometer 20. The smart compromise between purity and anatomical reality.
norda 003 (hiking)
The hiking version. Higher upper, same Dyneema tech. The move from trail running to alpine hiking. The kind of shoe that makes Salomon and Hoka nervous because Dyneema doesn't wear out.
