Pelago Bicycles
Urban and gravel steel bikes, Scandinavian design, Helsinki since 2009
Philosophy
Finnish urban and gravel steel bike brand founded in 2009 in Helsinki. Scandinavian design, steel frames, Taiwan manufacturing/Finland assembly.
History
Helsinki, 2009. Brothers Toni and Miko Kangas found Pelago Bicycles. Scandinavian design applied to bikes: clean lines, sober colors, everything in its place.
Frames made in Taiwan, designed and assembled in Finland. Finishes are the strong point. On enthusiasts: 'build quality seems top notch,' 'paint job is amazing.' The bike that gets compliments at every coffee stop.
Stavanger is the gravel, Hanko the equipped commuter, Bristol the urban single-speed. Pelago occupies a specific niche: steel bikes for those refusing to choose between aesthetics and function. Not lightest, not fastest, not cheapest. But the most beautiful utility bike you'll find.
