Profitec
High-end portafilter espresso machines and precision grinders for home use.
Philosophy
Bridging the gap between professional café machines and home use, with handmade quality and user-centric design. A durable investment for years of coffee enjoyment.
History
Bammental, Baden-Württemberg, 1985. Profitec GmbH starts by importing and distributing Italian espresso machines in Germany. The company is sister to ECM Manufacture - same owner, same DNA, different positioning. Profitec targets value; ECM targets premium.
Over the years, Profitec moves from importing to in-house manufacturing. And that's where it gets interesting.
Today machines are designed and hand-assembled in Bammental, with a second production line in Milan. The Pro 700 (dual boiler, PID, E61 group) is a benchmark in the espresso community: reliable, repairable, built to last. The Pro 300 (compact thermoblock) has democratized serious espresso at a more accessible price.
Brushed stainless steel bodies. Standard E61 groups (compatible with most aftermarket accessories). Repairable mechanical components. No cosmetic plastic, no touchscreen, no capsules. Just well-made mechanics and properly dimensioned hydraulics.
The les passionnés community consistently recommends Profitec in the €1,000-2,000 range. Customer service is responsive, spare parts available. It's German engineering applied to Italian coffee - sober, efficient, no frills.
Iconic Products
Profitec Pro 700 (Dual Boiler)
The 'tank' of home espresso machines, praised among enthusiasts, for its 'insane' build quality. This dual boiler machine offers professional temperature stability for both espresso and milk, with rock-solid reliability. One user stated 'zero regrets after 5000+ shots'.
Profitec Pro 300 DB
A heat exchanger model that draws on E61 brew group technology. It's a robust, high-performing machine, though isolated vibrations were reported on pre-2023 versions, a flaw since corrected. An excellent entry point into the Profitec world.
Machines à levier Profitec
For purists, these machines offer total manual control with vintage aesthetics and modern precision. They require a learning curve but reward with exceptional espresso, allowing users to 'feel like a barista at home'.
