Santaniello
Sartorial trousers and suits from Salerno since 1968. Union of a tailor and a trouser-maker. Second generation.
Philosophy
Trousers as an act of love. Biagio tailored, Carmela sewed trousers. Their marriage created a sartoria. Fifty-five years later, their children continue in the same spirit: Neapolitan cut, local manufacturing, no compromise.
History
Salerno, 1968. Biagio Santaniello is a tailor, Carmela Forino is a trousers-maker. They marry - in life and in craft. From this double union is born a sartoria specializing in men's trousers and suits, rooted in Southern Italian artisanal tradition.
The story is modest, without fireworks. Biagio brings the cut, Carmela the trouser technique - a specific skill in the Italian sartorial hierarchy. Together, they build a local then national reputation. In the early 1990s, their children Antonio and siblings take over and open the brand internationally.
The first collection under their own name dates from 1991. The positioning is clear from the start: Campanian sartoria, contemporary cut, reasonable price. Not inaccessible luxury, well-made at the right price. Distributed at Braun Hamburg, TheDoubleF, Victoire Paris, Spiga3.
Santaniello is the kind of brand nobody knows outside sartorial circles. No specialist forums discussions, no Instagram hype. Just a family making trousers in Salerno for over fifty years. In the Italian trouser landscape, it's the discreet alternative to Incotex - less known, more artisanal, equally well-made.
