Philosophy
Shibumi - beauty in restraint. Silk from Como and Kyoto, sewn in Florence, sold without middlemen. The right price for the right craft.
History
2012. Shibumi is born in Florence with a simple goal: high-quality handmade ties at non-insulting prices. The name comes from Japanese - shibumi, effortless elegance, beauty in simplicity.
Silks woven in Como and Kyoto. Grenadines, repps, cashmeres, wools, jacquards - all sourced from specialist weavers. Ties hand-sewn in Florence.
No shop. No showroom. Online only, cutting intermediaries to offer artisanal ties at €105-150 where Drake's or Marinella run €150-250. Within years, Shibumi became the reference on sartorial forums. Not through marketing - through product.
Range expanded to pocket squares, scarves, shirts. But the heart remains the tie.
