Philosophy
Custom steel and stainless steel bicycles, hand-brazed in Auvergne. A modern revival of the French artisanal frame builder.
History
In 2011, Victoire Cycles set up shop in Beaumont, Auvergne, with a clear ambition: to build top-level custom bicycles in steel and stainless steel, with no compromise and no nostalgia. Steel was not a fallback choice. It was chosen because it offers excellent mechanical properties for a bicycle frame, broad design flexibility, and a more responsible ecological profile.
Each bicycle is built to order after hours of discussion with the client. The rider's morphology, intended use (road, path, track, singletrack, city), technical brief, and aesthetic preferences define a one-off frame. Victoire treats custom work as a fully integrated process: design, fabrication, painting, and assembly are all done in the same workshop. Nothing is subcontracted, and nothing is produced in surplus.
The alloys are industry references: Reynolds and Columbus for steel, plus selected stainless grades for frames that will remain unpainted. Frames are hand-brazed, and so are forks, stems, and racks. The first owner gets a lifetime warranty. The workshop runs exclusively on renewable electricity supplied by Enercoop, the only French cooperative delivering 100% green power.
Victoire states its design principles plainly: pleasure comes first, simplicity is a goal (a bike approaches perfection when nothing more can be removed), details matter, and everything must stay durable and repairable. The brand positions itself as a modern response to overproduction and the offshoring of the cycling industry.
