1843. Six generations in the Morez valley, cradle of French eyewear. Two wars, Asian competition, Luxottica swallowing everything - and Vuillet Vega still stands, independent, in its valley. EPV 2024, Origine France Garantie. The exact opposite of Luxottica.

History

1843, Paris. Célestin Vuillet, originally from the Jura, sets up as an optician in Paris to build his clientele. Then he returns home, to the Morez valley, historic cradle of French eyewear since the 18th century. Six generations follow. The house survives two wars, Asian competition, Luxottica's dominance. It remains standing, independent, in its valley. Certified Origine France Garantie, EPV-labeled in 2024. Short supply chains, material recycling, packaging reduction. Exhibitor at the 'Made in France' fair in 2021 and 2025.
