Niche Coffee
Electric, low-retention, high-precision domestic coffee grinders.
Made in China, designed in the UK. Quality control is reportedly good, but it's not made in UK despite the British branding.
Philosophy
British single-dose grinder that exploded on Kickstarter. Compact design, 63mm conical burrs, near-zero retention. The Zero changed the home barista market. Made in China, at that price, that was the deal.
History
Niche was founded in 2014 by Martin Nicholson, a British engineer who noticed quality electric grinders were all designed for commercial use. The Niche Zero, crowdfunded on Indiegogo, became cult on enthusiast communities. Its principle: zero grind retention. The community considers it the grinder that democratized single-dosing for home baristas.
Iconic Products
Niche Zero Grinder
The brand's flagship, this single-dose grinder is renowned for its near-zero retention and exceptional grind consistency. The enthusiasts communities consider it 'god-tier' for espresso. Be warned, some find it loud and heavy, but the in-cup result justifies the effort.
Niche Duo
The Zero's sibling, offering increased versatility for various brewing methods. It maintains the brand's philosophy of precision and low retention, with an equally sleek design.
