Nuova Simonelli

Professional espresso machines and high-performance coffee grinders.

🇮🇹 Italy, Belforte del Chienti Founded in 1936 $$$$

Simonelli Group also owns Victoria Arduino. The group is independent but no longer a micro artisan enterprise.

Philosophy

To make espresso accessible and perfect, combining artisanal tradition with technological innovation. The machine should serve the barista, not the other way around.

History

Cessapalombo, Marche, January 1, 1936. Orlando Simonelli creates the '1936' machine in his workshop. After his death in 1971, five employees led by Nando Ottavi (who served Orlando coffee at 18) buy the brand in 1972. Not investors, people who know how to build espresso machines.

ISX in the 80s introduces electronics. Victoria Arduino acquired 1993. Aurelia Wave becomes the World Barista Championship official machine. 120 countries, manufacturing stays in Belforte del Chienti. 90 years, never did anything else.

Iconic Products

Aurelia Wave

The official World Barista Championship machine. Advanced pre-infusion, degree-precise temperature control, pro-designed ergonomics. For a cafe, it's a Rolls. For home, oversized and prohibitive. But it's the machine the world's best baristas prove themselves on.

Oscar II

The 'affordable' semi-automatic. Heat exchanger, water tank, compact format. The Nuova Simonelli for those wanting pro at home without installing a bar counter. The ecosystem entry point.

Mythos One (moulin)

The specialty cafe reference grinder. 75mm flat burrs, ventilation system for constant temperature. When a competition barista chooses a grinder, it's often this one. The natural Aurelia companion.
